I began my career as an attorney by representing injured people. Over the years, I have gravitated toward helping people with planning for their futures. I believe that proper planning is one of the most loving gifts a person can give. Through the creation of personalized and powerful legal documents, I help my clients memorialize their wishes, providing them with peace of mind while they are living and giving a true gift to loved ones after an unexpected event such as disability, incapacity or death.
Recently, I was thrust in the midst of a difficult time when my mother suddenly became ill. She had made no plans before her illness. I was forced to set aside my emotions (as best as possible) to offer my father guidance in first evaluating her options and then in making very difficult decisions. Following two long months in ICU, my mother peacefully passed away while under the care of hospice. It is through my mother that I now dedicate my practice to counseling clients on the importance of their personal and family legacy, as well as assisting clients through difficult times after the loss of a loved one. Compassion is of the utmost importance in my daily work life.
I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have lived here almost my entire life. The almost is because I did live part-time in New Orleans, Louisiana for several years, and I lived in Granada, Spain in 2012.
I have an amazingly supportive group of family and friends including my father, Willard, my brother, Keith, my son, Colby (26), and my boyfriend (best friend) Greg. My passion is travel to places near and far. I love learning about new places and meeting new people. When I am not working, or planning my next trip, Greg and I like to go to any LSU sporting event, go fishing in the Louisiana marshes or take our camper to one of the areas beautiful parks with our fur babies – Sophie (miniature labradoodle) and Belle (yellow lab).
